Algae Treatment Guide

Step 1: ASCERTAIN the type of algae:
Greenwater Algae is microscopic, causing the water to look like green cordial or pea soup.
Blanketweed looks like green cotton wool and floats on the surface. It may also proliferate in water courses and streams as “slime”.
Step 2: TREAT:
Choose your treatment option from the chart below and determine the pack size required from your pond size, in litres.
Step 3: PREVENT:
Use the preventative treatments as suggested, to reduce further outbreaks.

| Followed by (to consume dead algae): | Then use: Pond Balance |
| Sludge Buster | or String Algae Buster Powder |
| OR Bioactive Sludge Control | |
| PREVENT WITH | PREVENT WITH |
| Extract of Barley Straw | Extract of Barley Straw |
| With Clarifer Bacteria | with Clarifer Bacteria |
| or Install a Biofilter | or Install a Blagdon Electronic Blanketweed Controller |
| and UV Clarifier for long term prevention | OR an I-Tronic Blanketweed Controller |
Note: If pH is high, treatments will not be as effective.
